MR. BURNS PLAYER MODEL FOR UT:

"Look at them! Jackaninnys - Goldbrickers - Layabouts - Slugabeds! They're all pathetic morons wasting my precious money! None of these piss-ants are worthy to win my Liandri Tournament trophy! I have no choice but to win it myself!"
These words were overheard in the board room and moments later, Liandri Corporation Owner/President C. Montgomery Burns strode forth with all his malevolent fury, enrolled in the tournament and began the greatest breakthrough in labor relations since the cat-'o-nine-tails.

Please welcome Mr. Burns from "The Simpsons" to Unreal Tournament! I can't believe that no one has done a model of him before, and I'm honored to be the first (so far as I can tell - I've combed the web and I haven't seen Mr. Burns in ANY 3d games yet). I've treated the project with all the honor it's due, and I hope you won't be disappointed.
As is usual with my models, you'll find team color skins for his trademark suit and tie in red, blue, green and gold. The mesh files are included so you can make custom skins. If I see one good enough, I'll add it to the base skin file. (send a SMALL screenshot) But I'll be busy working on newer models so alternate Burns skins will be up to you guys. And you'll also find he comes packed with the best of the best sound clips from the T.V. show for your taunting/dying amusement. The problem was there were so MANY to choose from.....
And also with this model, I've tried something different - CHANGABLE EXPRESSIONS. He's got maniacal grins, evil scowls and twisted agony. I figure soon it will be expected of every model. After all, 3d models are like action figures. They look cool, but they always have the same blank expression on their faces, whether they're rejoicing in the fall of a vanquished foe or sprawled on the floor with their legs blown off. This model is my first step away from that, though I can't promise it for EVERY model I make....
This model also comes with an MP3 version of the diddy from the Simpsons, sung by Waylan Smithers: "It's Mr. Burns". Enjoy!

Installation instructions:
Extract the Burns.umod file from the zip file, and run it by double-clicking on it. All the pertinent files should be automatically placed in their proper UT directories. Then simply select Mr. Burns from the player setup/classes drop-down menu. Set Bots to be Mr. Burns from the practice session/bots/configure button.

Known bugs: On past models, I've recieved e-mails from folks saying that they've had trouble getting the models to work on dedicated servers. I think this is because I've neglected to inform you about a minor change that you need to make in your UT/System directory. Open up your "unrealtournament.int" file using notepad or wordpad. Scroll down to the section where you see many lines beginning with "ServerPackages". Add three new lines to this file, reading:

ServerPackages=burns
ServerPackages=burnsvoice
ServerPackages=burnskins

Then save, and close. Be sure to match the text for the files exactly - I think it's case-sensitive. Mr. Burns should work on your dedicated servers after this. Make the change for Bender and Tom Servo as well:

ServerPackages=Servo
ServerPackages=Servoskins
ServerPackages=Servoice
ServerPackages=Bender
ServerPackages=Bendervoice
ServerPackages=Benderskins

No other bugs are apparant in Mr. Burns that I know of, and if you follow these instructions, there shouldn't be any bugs at all!

Special Credit: Once again, kudos to ~Phoenix~Mage, co-importer, debugger and tutorial writer. Check out his treatise on planetquake.com/polycount. To the folks at EpicKnights modelling forum, unreality.org, and polycount. And again, thanks to the makers of UTEXPORT, Play This!, UNST and UTSKIN. Special thanks go to the authors of the 1st Amendment. Keep circulating the tapes.
